C1
Accomplished:
· Came up with an idea for the game
· Put users in virtual work environment
· Have them encounter various problems and react
· Began specific research into the needs of our clients and capabilities of the end users
· Broke research into work packages for the familiarization process
· Completed these work packages
· Presented research to lab
To Be Accomplished:
· Determine the platform to be used to create the game
· Evaluate and expand upon our initial solution
· Continue research to see how our solution would be implemented
· Send a representative/representatives, on behalf of the lab, to see the mustard seed's facilities and gain more information
· Create work packages for the design of the game, in collaboration with C9
· Get familiar with the platform that will be used to create the program
C2
Accomplished:
· Assigned topics for presentation
· Background, Key Players, Scope and Benchmarking for presentation
· Finished research for familiarization
· Compiled data into a condensed 8 minute presentation / slideshow
To be Accomplished:
· Figure out roles for Functional Requirements and Design Proposal
· Decide on what exactly must be researched for the game
· Project Component Goals/Functional Engineering Requirements/ Integration for report
· Split up research components equally
Additional Information:
Since Midterms are now completed, there will be more time to put towards the Mustard Seed project, which should result in better quality of work. The research component is still not very clear but with the trip to the Mustard Seed coming up very soon this should be fixed.
C5
Accomplished:
· We finished our research for the familiarization report
· We finished a visual for the familiarization report
· We as a group agreed upon the concept for our program being a facial expression recognition program and a situation assist program
· We as a group also practiced and timed our presentation so that it was under the required time
To be accomplished:
· We would like to have the entire design proposal done by Tuesday of next week
· We want to have all the final details of the concept figured out
· We would like to have a facial expression set of pictures ready for use in the program
C6
Accomplished:
· we assigned different research categories for interviewing techniques
· presented our familiarization presentation for interview techniques
· researched potential questions to ask guests
To be Accomplished:
· finalize the division of labor for the report
· contact employer groups to see what type of questions must be addressed
· Look into proper dress code for job interviews
Additional Information:
· our presentation was fairly smooth with a few minor glitches
C8
Accomplished:
· Prepared for the familiarization presentation all week:
o Basically coming up with ideas ho how our initial idea will work.
o Stuck with the idea of using an artificial cast/arm consisting of specific mouldings and use a pressure sensor to determine the grade of handshake.
o Blair, George and Orr were in charge of the topics:
§ Background
§ Key Players
§ Scope
o While Mitchell is in charge of:
§ Benchmarking
§ Handshake Demo
o Presentation was done today, and everything went well.
To be Accomplished:
· Develop more communication between groups to get the entire scope of what is currently going on with the project.
· Ask the Mustard Seed any questions that might be of use.
· Get to know how the program is going to work with our potential prototype.
· Figure out the materials for our prototype
C9
Accomplished:
· Finished and presented the familiarization brief
· Found a possible development platform
· Defined the main aspects of the video game
To be Accomplished:
· Deciding the dynamics of the game, in terms of
· Question/Answer, Minigames, or RPG-like game
· Level of personalization
· Deciding the level of hardware integration
· Finding and integrating existing freeware
· Degree of complexity of the interface
· Preparing the functionality report and design proposal
Additional:
The main focus for the next week will be the decision of whether or not to include hardware such as a balance board, webcams, or anything similar. So far, three main factors have come up that will influence the decision. The first is the cost for the Mustard Seed, because even if each component is very inexpensive, it still becomes a limiting factor on how many systems can be implemented. The second factor is the amount, type, and limitations of freeware available online that we can integrate into a package, because we do not have the skill to develop certain types of software within the limited timeframe. The final factor is the learning opportunities available through using external hardware that would not exist on a simple graphical interface.
